This week, lots of stuff happened, but these are the highlights or lowlights as one could call them:

NBA establishes a dress code. Players call it racist. The real world calls the players stupid: find  another job if you don't like the rules.

In a New Yorker interview, President Bush, The Greater, has been suggesting that the resident President needs a reality check. George H. W. Bush splashed praise on his old NSA Brent Scowcroft: "He was someone that I could depend on to tell me what I need to know and not just what I want to hear." Did you hear that Junior? Drop the cronies and get people that will advise you properly and honestly.

On November 6, ABC will have a special, live episode of the West Wing. In this episode, both candidates are set to debate each other with limited commercial interruptions.

President Bush finds himself a conservative candidate for the Supreme Court and the centrist Gang of 14 has already split - will there be a filibuster or will it be a simple up and down vote on Judge Alito? Looks like "up" for the vote and "down" for the Democrats.

Anyone taking bets that Bashar al-Assad of Syria invites U.N. investigation of his countries intelligence files? Me thinks he will not bow to what his country perceives as a American campaign to destroy his rule over the nation of Syria.

Quote of the Week comes to us from Cameron Diaz about the British: "The British are really good at that. They are so incestuous. They pass around partners as if it was popcorn at a movie. 'Do you want some?' It's just bizarre. I saw 10 minutes of Love Actually the other day and I was like, 'Oh my God, he's in love with his friend's wife.'" (Honey, just do the dance you did in Charlie's Angels again and we will forgive you for that stupid outburst and remember that you were in a movie as well - Love Actually was actually a good movie compared to Charlie's Angels

Michael Piller's passing is a sad day in the world of Star Trek. Simply put, this is the guy that had a hand in the direction of the Next Generation, Voyager, & Deep Space Nine. It was Michael Piller that added the drama to Star Trek and that the adventures be character-based. Some of the best Star Trek ever was under Michael Piller's watch. Our sympathy is with friends and family.
